I think the most attractive physical quality to a person is nice, white teeth. Seriously, they make all of the difference and are immediately noticeable to everyone. I have used a few different whitening products over the years, but I have found my new favorite whitening system, Smile Brilliant.
I try to avoid certain drinks that are teeth-staining culprits because I do like to keep my teeth white. I am not a wine drinker, and I mostly drink iced coffee so I use a straw. In the winter though, I am a sucker for Starbucks’ holiday lattes (they are delicious!) so there are times that I am drinking coffee without a straw. Who wants to give up coffee just for whiter teeth? Luckily you don’t have to when you find a system that takes away the coffee stains and other everyday food stains like this one does.
The whitening products I have used in the past are Crest Optic White toothpaste, Whitening Mouthwash, and Crest White Strips. Whitening strips work well, but since they are just a generic strip they don’t always conform to your teeth perfectly and really maximize your whitening results. Strips sometimes slip off, therefore they don’t stay on your teeth long enough to open the pores and whiten to the best of their ability. Another issue I have had with other whitening products is intense teeth sensitivity. The best part of this Smile Brilliant system is it is teeth whitening for sensitive teeth.
Smile Brilliant is a unique system because you whiten your teeth with customized trays molded from your own teeth. When you receive your kit, it comes with a molding set so you can make your customized trays. The molding trays come with very detailed directions on how to make your trays, and my best advice during this process is to read these directions thoroughly before starting. The putty to create the molds is time-sensitive so by reading the directions thoroughly you will create the molds correctly. The good news is the kit comes with an extra container of the putty just in case you make a mistake when creating your molds. Once you create your molds, you send them back to Smile Brilliant in a pre-paid envelope, where they make them into actual trays and send them back to you.
Once I received my custom trays back, they fit and molded to my teeth perfectly. Your kit comes with whitening gel syringes as well as desensitizing gel syringes. For each application, I used 1/3 of a whitening syringe for both the top and bottom trays. Based on how much whitening your teeth needs, you can keep your trays on for 45 minutes up to 3 hours. Since my teeth were fairly white prior to starting, I decided to keep my trays on for 1 hour during each whitening session and I did this for 10 total sessions. Initially I did have some gum sensitivity, but to help with this I used Vaseline on my gums and spaced my sessions out to every other night. You can also use coconut oil as a barrier if you are having gum sensitivity as well – just be sure to not get any on your actual teeth. To counteract teeth sensitivity, you can add the desensitizing gel to your trays after and wear them for 20 minutes after each whitening session. When you remove the trays with the desensitizing gel, do not rinse the gel from your mouth. It is also important to not eat or drink anything so you do not introduce new stains to the teeth. To avoid this it is best to do your whitening at night right before going to sleep. I did mine at that time and was still able to do things such as shower, watch TV, work on blog content, etc. The whitening process is non-invasive so it doesn’t get in the way of any activities you would normally do around the house.
Now that my sessions are complete, I can honestly say that my teeth are noticeably whiter. I have even had compliments from people about how white my teeth are which is always great to hear. If you are looking for a white smile and drugstore whitening products haven’t worked out the best for you, then I think Smile Brilliant is definitely worth trying.
